The Ship Design and Research Centre (CTO) was founded on the basis of the merger of the Central Ship Constructions Office no. 2 and the Central Construction and Research Centre of the Ship Industry as of the day of entry into force of the Ordinance of the Minister of Heavy Industry of January 28th, 1971.
